Yankee Pitcher Mike Pineda ejected for Pine Tar – and other MLB historical pitching cheaters

In one of the least creative ways Yankee pitcher Mike Pineda was accused of using pine tar to aid his pitching against the Boston Red Socks.  Clearly visible on all television screens, the dark smudge on Pineda’s neck led to his ejection for use of pine tar—in direct violation of MLB’s Rule 8.02.

The new rules for HS baseball bats meant to slow the speed of the batted ball may have had another effect: more doctored bats.

Here’s an interesting article about two ways unscrupulous players/parents/coaches may break the rules: rolling and shaving.
